Douglas Adams (1952-2001) was an English writer from Cambridge who studied English literature at St John's College, Cambridge. He created The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy for BBC Radio 4 and expanded it into novels, television, games, stage adaptations, and collaborations ranging from humorous reference books to nonfiction travel writing.
