M.L. Rio

M. L. Rio was born in Miami and raised in North Carolina by parents from California. Her writing began in elementary school, and she later studied Shakespeare and English literature, earning an MA in Shakespeare studies and a PhD in English literature. Her debut novel, If We Were Villains, became an international bestseller, and she also writes about music. She lives in Washington, D.C. with a mutt named Marlowe.
