Mary Shelley was a British writer, best known for Frankenstein and for a body of fiction and prose that includes novels, short stories, travel writing, and journals. The daughter of Mary Wollstonecraft and William Godwin, she also edited and promoted the work of Percy Bysshe Shelley and remained an important voice in Romantic-era literature.
